Folktale scarves

Folktale scarves

Three sublimation printed and handsewn scarves made for Folktale week.
The first depicts the theme ”ritual”, as hunting and killing deer has been an important ritual performed to mark someones first step into adulthood in many cultures, and the white stag often represents purity and innocence.
The second was made for the theme ”courtship” and depicts two serpents entangled in one another among treasures, as I like to imagine that they like birds offer eachother gifts as part of the courtship.
The third depicts the swedish Hårga dance and song, the story of how the devil disguised as a violinist enchanted the people in the village of Hårga to dance until they all died from exhaustion.
