”The living-room”
Illustration.
Assigned to make an interpretation of the ”livingroom”, I dove into the backstory of it, why it’s called the ”living” room.
Historically, and before funeral homes were popular the ”parlour” could often serve as a room to grieve and say the last goodbyes to a lost family member, something still practiced in some cultures.
This illustration is the result of me visually exploring the theme, also using charcoal as the main art medium to further play with the idea of drawing with ”ashes”, coal being the remains of a piece of wood.
