I thrifted an old copy of Astrid Lindgren’s ”The Brothers Lionheart” with a torn cover, and decided to make my own cover for it.
I wanted it to match the style of the black and white ink illustrations inside the book rather than work in full colour, and picked details from some of my favourite parts of the story to show on the cover.
